Organization profile

Tell Salfio who your company is and how it sells, so every AI feature reasons about your actual business model instead of a generic one.

Your organization profile is a short description of the business behind your Salfio workspace: what you do, who you serve, and how the work is sold. Salfio's AI features read it whenever they need to reason about your side of a customer relationship — most of all when weighing what you could offer a customer next.

Without it, those features know your customers well and your own company barely at all. An agency selling monthly retainers and a product company selling per-seat licences look identical to Salfio until this profile is filled in, so both get the same generic suggestions.

Find it under Settings → Organization → General.

Field What it is
Organization name The public name your customers know you by. This is separate from your workspace name, which can differ.
Website Your company's website address.
LinkedIn company page Your company's LinkedIn page.
Description A few sentences describing the business.

Every field is optional and an empty profile is perfectly valid — nothing breaks, features simply reason with less context.

The description is the field that does the work, and it is read by AI features rather than by visitors, so write it for accuracy, not for marketing. Cover three things:

  • What you sell — your actual services or product.
  • Who you serve — customer type, size, industry or market.
  • How the work is delivered and sold — retainers, projects, fixed-fee engagements, subscription, per-seat licences. This is the part that changes what counts as a realistic opportunity, so it matters most.

A useful example:

Digital product agency in Amsterdam working with mid-market SaaS and fintech teams. Engagements run as monthly retainers covering product design, front-end build and ongoing growth experiments, with fixed-fee discovery sprints for new clients.

Skip slogans, superlatives and mission statements. "We are a leading, innovative partner" tells Salfio nothing it can act on.

There is deliberately no separate "company type" or "pricing" field — both belong in this description, where a sentence can say far more than a dropdown.

If you would rather not start from a blank field, Generate description drafts one for you. Salfio reads your website and LinkedIn company page, the services in your catalog, and a sample of your recent customer conversations, then writes a few sentences in the same shape as the guidance above.

You need a website or a LinkedIn page on the profile first — save one, and the button becomes available.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Nothing is saved until you save it. The draft appears in the description field for you to read, edit, and keep or discard. Leaving the page without saving discards it.
  • It takes a moment. The research runs in the background; you can leave the page and come back to it.
  • It says where it looked. Once the draft arrives, a line under the field names the sources it was written from and when. If your LinkedIn page could not be read — company pages often block automated access — the draft is written from everything else and the line says so.
  • It will not guess. If there is too little to work from, Salfio tells you instead of inventing a company, and your existing description is left untouched.
  • Editing it makes it yours. Change a word and the label switches from Generated to Manually edited, and the sources line disappears — because it no longer describes what is in the field.

Only your organization's own name and web addresses are ever used to research it. Customer names and the contents of your conversations are read to inform the description, never sent to any search engine.

Revisit the description when the business changes shape: a new service line, a different pricing model, a shift in the customers you target. Salfio picks up the change the next time it refreshes its per-customer analysis, so an edit is reflected across the workspace without any further action.

Above the description, a small label records whether the text was written by hand or drafted for you, so you can tell at a glance where it came from.
